In 1998 I visited an exhibition in London organised by signmakers Wood & Wood and shown at the Pentagram Gallery. It demonstrated various artists’ interpretations of the letters of the alphabet. Later I received in the post a little book commemorating the show called Cast of Characters. This illustration is from that book.
